THE GOD OF COVENANT
I was led to Isaiah59. A chapter we should pray through.
God is a covenantal God. He executes judgement on those who do not keep His covenant, who do injustice. Read Ez17 from verse19-24 .
God is a God that executes His judgments and His righteouness:
Ezekiel 17:19 Therefore thus says the Lord God: As I live, I will surely return upon his head my oath that he despised, and my covenant that he broke.
Read in the Bible. Stong word.
God says He will bring down the high tree, those who break His covenant. He will exalt the low tree. See end of this writing for confirmation. This was also dreamt by an intercessor in part. God’s timing is in His hands.
Ezekiel 17:24 And all the trees of the field shall know that I, the Lord, have brought down the high tree and exalted the low tree, dried up the green tree and made the dry tree flourish; I, the Lord, have spoken and have done it.”
In Is57 God speaks again against iniquity and injustice. People breaking His covenant. Truth has fallen on the street. Let us pray that righteousness will overtake us. That we will choose standing in covenant relationship with God.
Take this chapter and let us stand in the gap and repent that many in SA has chosen crooked paths, shedding of innocent blood, and that transgression has multiplied in our land.
God said He seeked for Intercessors. He seeks a man to stand in the gap for justice. We have responded. Many in SA have. Let us humble ourselves before God, seek His face for our nation’s iniquities. Let us pray that our nation turns from its wicked ways. Even today by casting votes, for truth to prevail. Let us ask for forgiveness that God will cleanse our nation. Jesus we plead Your blood over SA. Purge us from our iniquities.
Use Isaiah 59 in your prayers. It builds up to promises we can stand on.
Today we also put on God’s armour. We cover our nation as God did for us. It says He put on His own righteousness on our behalf.
Isaiah 59:16-17 He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor; Therefore, His own arm brought salvation for Him; And His own righteousness, it sustained Him. 17 For He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on His head; He put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak.
This is what Jesus did for us. We stand in agreement, as His priests, on behalf of SA, and declare this finished work of Christ over SA. As Abraham did, and Jonah for Nineveh.
God is a God of justice. We have a choice. May SA choose God. In verse 18 He says we will repay us according to our deeds. He will show fury to His adversaries. We pray our people will turn from their wicked ways. Please forgive us Lord.
Then this chapter ends with powerful promises. The Redeemer will come to Zion / SA, and to those who turn from transgression. We pray: So shall we fear the Lord….
Isaiah 59:19-20 So shall they fear The name of the Lord from the west, And His glory from the rising of the sun; When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him. 20 “The Redeemer will come to Zion, And to those who turn from transgression in Jacob,” Says the Lord.
Lord we pray SA turns from transgression. In the midst of the enemies tactics we know You are lifting up a standard against him. We speak forth Your glory over SA. Thank you that You will save our nation.
You said Your Spirit is upon us. You are putting Your words in our mouth. We South Africa choose to be in covenant relationship with You. Your word is yes and amen, and will not return to You void, but will accomplish that for which it is sent.
Isaiah 21 “As for Me,” says the Lord, “this is My covenant with them: My Spirit who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your descendants, nor from the mouth of your descendants’ descendants,” says the Lord, “from this time and forevermore.”
It does not end here. It goes on to declare Isaiah 60 over us: The whole chapter has powerful promises that we can pray over SA
Isaiah 60:1-3 Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. 2 For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you. 3 The Gentiles shall come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising.
Again God promises that a litte one will be raised up. As in Ez17:22-24
Isaiah 60:22 A little one shall become a thousand, And a small one a strong nation. I, the Lord, will hasten it in its time.”
Please pray this through as Holy Spirit guides you.
