WHO IS GOD?
Amidst many major problems in our world and in the nation, we tend to focus on everything that is wrong. Prayers bent toward man and its needs.
The first prayer Jesus taught, shows us His Priority. Matt6:9,10
OUR FATHER THAT IS IN HEAVEN
HALLOWED BE YOUR NAME
YOUR KINGDOM COME
YOUR WILL BE DONE
ON EARTH AS IT
IS IN HEAVEN
As Followers of CHRIST
Our prayer starts with GOD – praising and worshipping GOD
(In word, scripture, song, dance, art or any way you like to give God a sacrifice of praise)
Here follows a glimpse of God which can be used in prayer….
WHO IS GOD? – HIS NATURE
GOD IS ONE, (Matthew 3:16-17).
& THREE PERSONS—God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit
INTANGIBLE God is spirit, (John 4:24).
INFINITE (1 Timothy 1:17),
INCOMPARABLE (2 Samuel 7:22), and
UNCHANGING (Malachi 3:6). God exists everywhere (Psalm 139:7-12),
ALL-KNOWING (Psalm 147:5; Isaiah 40:28),
ALL- POWERFULL & Has ALL AUTHORITY (Ephesians 1; Revelation 19:6; Matt28:18)
WHO IS GOD? – HIS CHARACTER
Here are some of God’s characteristics as revealed in the Bible:
GOD IS JUST (Acts 17:31),
LOVING (Ephesians 2:4-5),
TRUTHFUL (John 14:6), and
HOLY (1 John 1:5).
COMPASSIONATE (2 Corinthians 1:3),
MERCIFUL (Romans 9:15), and grace (Romans 5:17).
JUDGES SIN (Psalm 5:5)
FORGIVING (Psalm 130:4).
WHO IS GOD? – HIS WORK
GOD CREATED THE WORLD (Genesis 1:1; Isaiah 42:5)
HE ACTIVELY SUSTAINS THE WORLD (Colossians 1:17)
HE IS EXECUTING HIS ETERNAL PLAN (Ephesians 1:11)
REDEEMS MAN from the curse of sin (Galatians 3:13-14);
HE DRAWS PEOPLE TO CHRIST (John 6:44);
HE DISCIPLINES HIS CHILDREN (Hebrews 12:6);
HE WILL JUDGE THE WORLD (Revelation 20:11-15).
“Meeting God in prayer is responding to the Divine invitation to relationship”
What an immense privilege that we may be in relationship with this Awe-inspiring Mighty God who loves us in the highest form of sacrificial love .
YOU CAN START WITH A SLOW AND CONTEMPLATIVE PRAYER:
My Abba Father, Holy Father, Incomparable, Infinite, Intangible, and Unchanging. You are All-Knowing, All- Powerful and All-Wise. Ever Present Loving, Faithful Father. Full of Compassion, Merciful and Forgiving and Slow to anger.
You created the world, sustain it, and you are executing Your eternal plan. Thank you for drawing all people to You. redeeming man, delivering and setting man free of eternal destruction. For now through Your love for us we are reconciled to You, to for ever be in a living, life giving, loving relationship with You.

David’s Prayer
10 David praised the Lord in the presence of the whole assembly, saying, “Praise be to you, Lord, the God of our father Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. 11 Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendour, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all. 12 Wealth and honour come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all. 13 Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name. 1Chron29:10-13
